Everyday people ask me if I ever eat, or what I eat and how I make time to prepare my meals every day. It's so simple to do! Just like anything else in life if it matters to you, you'll make time for it. I hardly ever go out to eat and I never buy fast food. Each night when I get home I take 20 minutes to prepare my meals for the next morning. I pack my breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for the next day. On Sunday each week I think about what I want to cook for the week that way I know what I need to buy at the store, that way I don't have to put much effort into thinking about what to cook everyday. My husband Jesse doesn't always like to eat the "weird" foods that I eat so I have to put some extra effort into it and think of things to prepare for him as well because I don't want him eating out everyday or eating crap that's going to hurt his very sexy body.
I hate seeing money go to waste on fast food everyday!! An average meal of eating out for lunch is 5-10 dollars, your average work week is 5 days so that's at least 40-50 dollars a week!!!! Plus thousands of calories!!! Do you know how many outfits I can buy because I'm not spending NEARLY that amount of money a week on my meals, plus how many squats that's going to take to try and burn those calories?? ITS NOT WORTH IT! I spend a lot of my time reading and researching foods, learning how to read a nutrition label, and what those big words mean listed in the ingredients. Knowing what you're eating makes it much easier to choose what to eat.
This is what my day looks like today, for those who say they never see me eat you are crazy because I eat all day long.I hate seeing money go to waste on fast food everyday!! Breakfast is definitely your most important meal of the day! skipping breakfast is like not filling up your gas tank, if you don't put gas in your car you can't expect it to run. Your body works the same way, you can't expect your body to start up and go if you don't fuel it. My breakfast today is very simple, I always start my day off with water, ice cold water first thing in the morning gets your metabolism going and the colder the water the harder it is for your body to process so you're actually making your metabolism work harder. Next I drink my vitamins and chia seeds. Vitamins are essential for your day, especially if you're someone who is eating out a lot you are not getting the nutrients your body needs. Next for breakfast is protein! If your like me and exercise at the beginning of your day you HAVE to give your body protein to recover.
Lunch, the hardest meal for me to eat. I usually don't want to make time for it or just don't know what to eat. Today is Quinoa Salad. So yummy and so simple. took me 20 min. to cook
1/2 Cup Quinoa
1 cup Broccoli
1/4 cup Onions and Green Bell Pepper
1 tsp Sriracha hot sauce
handful of Kale
I just Steamed my veggies and mix it all together! YUM!
Snacks are easy, I always have it put together so it's something I can eat on the go. Protein bar (always be very cautious of what protein bars you're eating, learn to read labels just because it says protein on it does not mean its good for you). Then just cucumbers with hummus. On the go and very yummy! Hummus has a weird texture for some people but they have so many different flavors to try so just give it a shot! Veggies are blah when you just eat them alone so having hummus to add flavor to them makes it so much easier to eat a lot of that rabbit food
Dinner, Spinach Salad with a crisp apple and raspberry vinaigrette dressing on top. Again it's quick, it's simple to make but it tastes so good! I buy my dressing from Good Earth. Lastly I drink more protein! the reason I eat so much protein is because of how much exercising I do, not everyone will need the same amount as me but it's still needed in your diet. I try not to eat my dinner later than 7:30 so my body has time to digest and burn through those calories before I head to bed and my metabolism slows way down. Through out the day I'm drinking tons and tons of water, if you cant remember to drink it between meals than make it a goal to drink a glass at least with every meal and snack you eat.
Seems like a ton of food but all of it together is only 1,075 Calories, 39 grams of sugar, and 94 grams of protein. I should be eating at least 1,200 calories a day (everyone has different amounts they need) so I should have put a few more snacks in my day.
